The firm
Built independent, on purpose.
OVO — Opulence Values Obedience — is an independent life insurance and retirement agency. The name states the order of operations: prosperity is welcome, values decide how it’s pursued, and discipline is what makes either one last.
We built the firm around a simple observation: most people approaching retirement don’t need another product pitch. They need someone to explain, in plain language, how the rules change when you stop adding to savings and start living on them — and then to match instruments to that reality honestly.
The independence argument
Why it matters who signs our carrier contracts
A captive agent represents one insurance company and can only recommend what that company sells. An independent agency holds appointments with multiple carriers and can walk away from any of them. That structural difference is the entire reason our recommendations are worth hearing: when a carrier’s caps drop or its pricing weakens, we are free to say so and place your business elsewhere.
Independence doesn’t make anyone objective by itself — commissions still exist and we’ll explain how ours work before you sign anything. It simply removes the structural conflict of having one employer’s quota to hit.
Leadership
Who you’ll actually talk to
Mychal Taylor
Principal
Mychal leads the firm and its advisory work. Full team bios, credentials, and years in the field are being finalized for this page — in the meantime, he’s the person on the other end of the first conversation.
Licensing
Our licensed-states list and license numbers are being finalized for publication and will appear here and in the site footer. Until then, we’ll confirm licensing for your state in the first conversation — before any product is discussed.
The first conversation is the audition.
Thirty minutes tells you whether we think the way you want your advisor to think. No cost, and no obligation either way.
